Suresh Sundaram – Founder of Sundaram Pottery, Lexington, MA

Suresh Sundaram is the creative force behind Sundaram Pottery, where he shapes functional stoneware and alternatively-fired pottery.

After taking classes at Mudflat and MIT, Suresh’s passion for pottery truly ignited in 2019 when he met renowned raku potter Richard Foye at the New Hampshire League of Craftsmen's annual show. Richard generously took Suresh under his wing, sharing his deep knowledge and intricate techniques of raku firing. Since then, Suresh has continued to hone his skills, attending workshops with master potters James Watkins and Bill van Gilder and master mold-maker Jonathan Kaplan. In the summer of 2024, Suresh spent several transformative weeks in Seoul, South Korea, working one-on-one with potter Kim Yun Sam.

Based in Lexington, MA, Suresh's work reflects a blend of traditional techniques and innovative firing methods, deeply informed by his expertise as a chemical engineer. He is a member of the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society.
